Message 13: The Three Stages of Salvation & Reward and Discipline

I. The first stage of salvation is the stage of regeneration and in this stage our spirit is saved; this is the beginning of the Christian life—John 3:6; 1 Pet. 1:3
John 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
1 Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has regenerated us unto a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
II. The second stage is the progressing stage, the stage of transformation; this stage saves us in our soul; from our spirit we need to allow Christ to spread into our soul day by day; by opening to Him, by praying and by confessing our sins, we allow Him to spread in us; this spreading is our sanctification—Rom. 12:2; 2 Cor. 3:18; 1 Pet. 1:9 and note 55
Romans 12:2 And do not be fashioned according to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of the mind that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and well pleasing and perfect.
2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all with unveiled face, beholding and reflecting like a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord Spirit.
